Ending hunger and securing our future
Poverty and inequality are not just statistical measures but have tangible consequences for people’s daily lives. Millions of people globally live with the reality of hunger. Concerns about food security are usually raised in discussions about land reform and protection of commercial agriculture, however millions of South Africans are already grappling with food insecurity daily. While soup kitchens and feeding schemes have their place, ending hunger requires policy reforms and a multi-sectoral approach.
How do we forge concrete partnerships to address the complex challenge of food security, hunger and nutrition in South Africa?
Join Joanne Joseph at the next Business Day Dialogues LIVE in association with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Ecumenical Foundation of Southern Africa as Business, Religious, Academic and Civil Society leaders discuss the scope of the hunger and malnutrition crisis in South Africa, and the responsibility that the Government, the Private Sector and fellow South Africans have in ensuring an affordable, accessible supply of food to all our people.
